If you take that chart from one year ago, compare it to that one, you will certainly notice a trend.
This chart is a bit like standing on the inside of a crowd being fired upon, calculating the number of those hit, and concluding that, because the number is small at that time, there's no impending danger.
My concern is not that we "are socialist." My concern is that this administration is taking actions which identify a particular direction - and that direction is looking particularly like it supports large scale government intervention.
Six months ago, there were.. looks like about eighteen less Czars than there are today. That indicates increased regulation - and not even the kind that we're constitutionally setup for. No, Czars are like any cabinet-elected group, in that they are not entirely beholden to the system of checks and balances.

If you want the real irony it was Bush that kick-started this, and Obama is at this point just helping to keep it rolling.
